The Department of National Minorities has signed an agreement with the European Commission on the implementation of the seventh phase of the project “Lithuanian Roma Platform – going local”.
📅 The new phase will start on June 1, 2025 and will last two years, continuing our mission to promote cooperation between Roma communities and local municipalities.
What’s new in the phase?
🌟 Scholarships for Roma students.
For the first time, we are establishing 20 scholarships to support Roma youth in completing secondary education or continuing their higher education.
⚖️ Legal services.
The team will be supplemented by a special lawyer who helps solve legal problems, including cases of child protection and discrimination.
🎵 Community strengthening and cultural events.
From the Roma music festival in Kybartai to educational workshops, youth trips and cooperation with Estonian Roma organizations.
