On December 20th, a wonderful Christmas celebration took place at the Troškūnai Cultural Center for the local Roma community, supported by the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
The event began with a performance by the Roma music ensemble “Devlesko drom”, followed by the Paįstrio Cultural Center Bernatoniai branch’s folklore ensemble, which introduced the traditions of Advent. The little participants had the opportunity to take part in the “Light of Life” educational activity, where they created Christmas vibes and learned more about the Christmas celebration.
At the end of the event, children were delighted with various gifts and treats.
The Head Specialist of the Department of Relations with National Communities, Gražina Sluško, wished all families warm and cozy holidays, happiness, and health.
After the event, Gražina Sluško met with the Principal of Troškūnai Kazys Inčiūra Gymnasium, Vilma Žvybienė, and the local mayor, Rimantas Sereičikas, to better understand the needs of the Roma community and discuss ways to further contribute to promoting cultural life.
