On the 12 of January, 2022 the meeting with Jonava city municipality occured.
This meeting was organized by the project “Lithuanian Roma Platforms – going local part 5” which is funded by European Comission.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Jonava District’s municipality representatives, the Roma Society Center’s director, the Lithuanian Falcony Union “Help to Fit” representatives, a Roma mediator in Jonava and representatives of the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat.
During the meeting the situation of the Roma people in Jonava was discussed. The social, educational, employment, housing and other problems that the Roma face in their daily lives have been discussed and ways have been sought to solve them.
